My Education Background
» As Zhonghua Primary School was a few minutes away from my house, my parents decided to enroll me into the neighbourhood school. For the next 6 years of my education, the school became my second home. The first Co-curricular Activity I joined was rope skipping. However, things did not work out for me, so I decided to join volleyball instead. And from then, I trained hard and honed my skills. I eventually used the Direct School Admission option to enter Zhonghua Secondary school. In the end, my raw score for PSLE was enough to enter the express stream for Zhonghua. There were many ups and downs during my education journey. I'll be sharing my most fun times in both my primary and secondary school as well as the bad times that I went through.
My Primary School Journey
» When I first entered the school, I was scared about what I will experience in the next 6 years. Surprisingly, from primary 1 to 4, my grades were always good and my class position was always within top 10. However, I started becoming mischievious, and stopped doing my homework. I failed my first exam in primary 5. From then, everything went downhill, as I continued flunking my tests throughout the year. Math was my only forte, so the only subject that I actually scored well was math. My form teacher had small talks with me to inform me of the bad situation I am in. When it was the year for my PSLE, I realised the urgency of needing to improve my grades. Thus, I decided to turn over a new leaf. I had my teacher's backing and a bunch of practice paper. During primary school, the best way to practice subjects is to do "past year papers". My target was to do an examination paper each day. After that, I have to meet my respective subject teachers to go through the papers I have done. It was tiring and stressful for me at that time. But I held through and gradually improved my grades. In the end, I scored 236 for my PSLE score, getting an A for every subject. That was probably the happiest day of my life. It shows the fruits of my labour. I finally understood a phrase my form teacher always told me-"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence."

My Secondary School Journey
» I went into secondary school through Direct School Admission. Since the start of secondary school, my grades were always average and it stayed that way. I mostly spent my time playing sports and leading a carefree life for the first 2 years of secondary school. However, at the start of secondary 3, I fractured my feet and was on cast for 2 months. It was probably one of the most tough time I went through. I lost motivation in doing any work. As a result, I fell behind everyone in terms of grades. For the rest of the year, I was constantly at the bottom of the class. It remained the same through secondary 4, until the O'levels were around the corner. After months of talks from teachers and my parents, I decided to wake up and study hard. I spent the next 2 months just focusing on my studies. I met with my different subject teachers everyday after school. I had to receive special "treatment" from my teachers due to the fact that my grades were always below C6. So the torturous 2 months passed by and Os started. In the end, I got 18 points for my L1R5. It was definitely alot better than I expected.
